Samsung is preparing to reinvent foldable technology as the brand, for the first time, confirmed the development of its tri-fold phone at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Several details about the purported handset have leaked over the past few weeks, with the company also offering a glimpse into its product lineup in 2025. The triple-screen foldable was revealed towards the end of the event in an outlined render alongside Samsung’s upcoming AR glasses and mixed-reality headset.

Near the end of the Galaxy S25 series Unpacked presentation, Samsung’s Head of Customer Experience, Jay Kim, explained how Gemini Live may change how we interact with the company’s devices. Further, at the end of the speech, he mentioned multiple devices with the outline of a triple-screen device appearing on the screen.

However, the company didn't give a specific release date for this innovative tri-fold phone, which will likely take on Huawei's Mate XT, the world's first mass-produced triple-folding smartphone. Earlier this month, Samsung showcased two concepts at CES 2025, one which folded inwards and the other similar to the Huawei Mate XT that folds inwards and outwards. However, it remains to be seen which design the South Korean tech giant will adopt for its first triple-screen foldable phone.
