Samsung appears to be accelerating its software development timeline, with reports suggesting that the One UI 8.5 beta could arrive as soon as November. According to SamMobile, the company plans to launch the open beta in the week of 24 November, months before the expected debut of the Galaxy S26 lineup.

Last year, Samsung began the One UI 7 beta in December, only weeks ahead of the Galaxy S25 series launch. The stable version did not reach most users until April 2025. The company’s decision to start earlier this time signals a more structured approach to software updates and a stronger focus on timely delivery.

One UI 8, built on Android 16, was initially rolled out with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in July, followed by older devices in September. The upcoming One UI 8.5 will also be based on Android 16 and is expected to reach flagship models first, including the Galaxy S26 series.

Samsung is reportedly planning several enhancements for One UI 8.5, such as improved connectivity management, an intelligent Wi-Fi-to-mobile data switch, enhanced spam call protection, and professional-grade camera tools. Leaks also point to a visual redesign that could bring a cleaner, more fluid interface.
