Samsung has begun the official rollout of One UI 8, its next major software update built on Android 16. Key features
One UI 8 brings multimodal AI that integrates visual, auditory, and contextual intelligence. This includes proactive suggestions based on user routines, real-time translations via Circle to Search, and new personalization tools. Features like Gemini Live allow natural interactions with AI across apps, while enhanced multitasking tools such as AI Results View and Multi Window improve productivity on large screens.
Samsung has also focused on security. Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) creates encrypted storage spaces for apps, while Knox Matrix improves account safety across connected devices. Secure Wi-Fi with post-quantum cryptography adds another layer of protection on public networks.
Availability timeline
The rollout has started in Korea and will expand to more regions in the coming weeks. Flagship devices like the Galaxy S25 and S24 series are first in line, with foldables and premium Galaxy tablets following shortly after. Mid-range A-series models are expected to get the update in phases before the end of 2025.
