MumbaiHacks Hackathon organised by TEAM sets Guinness World Record

The hackathon recorded 1,460 hackers picked from nearly 3,000 registrations to participate in the event, making it to Guiness World Record for most number of participants in a generative AI hackathon.

MumbaiHacks organised by the Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM) and Made in India in partnership with industry giants like Meta, NVIDIA, Quantiphi, and ATLAS SkillTech University has recorded 1,460 hackers picked from nearly 3,000 registrations to participate in the event, making it to Guinness World Record for most number of participants in a generative AI hackathon.

The hackathon was held over two days on October 25 and 26 at ATLAS SkillTech University in BKC, Mumbai.

“This achievement underscores Mumbai's position as a global hub for tech talent and a key player in the Generative AI ecosystem. Google Cloud and Formula E had previously set the record for the largest Generative AI hackathon, drawing 1,130 participants in London on July 19, 2024,” TEAM said in a statement.

The hackathon received 398 project submissions including innovative ideas like AI-powered financial inclusion platforms and AI-driven public safety systems. With a Rs 12-lakh prize pool, mentorship opportunities, and a platform for teams to pitch their ideas to a panel of industry and tech leaders, each team showcased AI-driven solutions to name a few.
