Adobe’s Project Indigo camera app is reportedly facing compatibility issues with Apple’s latest iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air models. Launched just over a month ago, the new devices are still not fully supported by the app, according to posts on Adobe’s official community forums. While Project Indigo runs on older iPhones, such as the iPhone 12 Pro, full functionality on the iPhone 17 series remains pending. The update is expected soon, though the forum suggests that some features of the new selfie camera may not work immediately.

Project Indigo, an experimental iOS app led by Marc Levoy — known for his work on Google Pixel cameras — is designed to deliver more natural photo processing than standard smartphone camera apps. While Adobe plans to expand Indigo to Android, technical challenges mean iPhone users are likely to receive support first.

Boris Ajdin, Adobe’s product manager, shared updates on the company forum regarding the iPhone 17 support delay. According to The Verge, Ajdin noted that the front camera has been the main challenge. “Some of them we flagged to Apple, who have made a fix and will ship it with iOS 26.1. Sadly, that means we need to consider disabling the front camera in Indigo until that version of iOS is shipped,” he wrote.

Initially, Adobe expected to release the update within a few days, but development has taken longer than anticipated. Ajdin’s latest post indicated hopes to release the update “this week.” When asked for details, Adobe spokesperson Erin Di Leva referred media inquiries to Ajdin’s forum updates.
