Infinix introduced its latest affordable smartphone, the Smart 9 HD, in India on Tuesday. It is the first smartphone from the company's new Smart 9 lineup and arrives as the successor to the Smart 8 HD. The phone comes with an HD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Further, it comes with an IP54-rated build, which makes it resistant to splashes.

Infinix Smart 9 HD is priced in India at Rs. 6,699. However, it will be available at Rs. 6,199 as part of a special day-one offer. The phone can be purchased starting February 4 on Flipkart, and will be in four colour options — Mint Green, Coral Gold, Neo Titanium, and Metallic Black.

Infinix Smart 9 HD comes with a 6.7-inch HD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of peak brightness. It also features a hole-punch cutout for the front camera, which is rare to find in this price category. Moreover, the phone has dual speakers with DTS audio processing and sound boost technology.
Further, the Smart 9 HD is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G50 chip, paired with 3GB RAM and an additional 3GB virtual RAM with 64GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 14 Go edition and is optimized for smooth performance. The Infinix Smart 9 HD has a 13MP dual rear camera unit with quad LED and zoom flash. It also gets an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls, in addition to LED flash and screen flash features.
The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. The company has provided an AI charge protection feature, which is claimed to protect the device from overcharging and prolong the battery's health. Connectivity options on the Infinix Smart 9 HD include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
