If your Pixel 7a is acting up, maybe the battery drains too fast or the phone looks a little puffed up, Google might have a free fix for you. The company has launched a special repair program for Pixel 7a users facing battery issues, and it covers 40 countries, including India.
So what’s the issue? Google says some Pixel 7a phones may be affected by battery swelling. This can show up as your phone looking thicker than usual, the back cover popping out, or even noticeable gaps along the sides. A fast-draining battery could also be a warning sign.
If that sounds familiar, you can visit Google’s support page to check if your phone qualifies for a free battery replacement. But there’s a catch—your phone will be inspected first. If it has other damages like a cracked screen or water exposure, the repair might not be free. In those cases, Google will give you a repair estimate before going ahead.
In India and the US, you can either mail your phone to Google or visit an authorized repair center. Other countries like Canada, the UK, Germany, Japan, and Singapore offer only walk-in repairs.
And here’s something extra: if your Pixel 7a is out of warranty and you're in a country without a mail-in option, Google might offer you money instead of a repair. Depending on your situation, you could get the equivalent of $200 or even $456, either in cash or as store credit for a new Pixel device.
Think your Pixel 7a qualifies? Head to Google’s support page and get the process started.
