At WWDC 2025, Apple unveiled a suite of powerful new Apple Intelligence features coming to iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro, further integrating AI into everyday user experiences — without compromising privacy. Available for testing now and rolling out widely this fall, these upgrades bring smarter language tools, expressive creativity features, and more useful visual recognition, all built atop Apple’s on-device large language model.

At the core of this rollout is Live Translation, which now works across Messages, FaceTime, and Phone. Texts can be translated in real-time as you type, spoken calls can be interpreted aloud during the conversation, and FaceTime provides live captions — all processed securely on-device. Eight new languages, including Turkish, Swedish, and Vietnamese, will join by year’s end.

Visual Intelligence also gets a major boost. Users can now interact with what’s on their screen using Apple Intelligence — like identifying objects, searching online for similar items, or extracting calendar details from an event flyer. A simple long press (the same gesture used to take a screenshot) opens up these capabilities, offering quick actions without needing to copy, paste, or switch apps.

In the realm of creativity, Genmoji and Image Playground offer playful new tools for personal expression. Genmoji can now combine multiple emojis with descriptions to create custom, animated versions of familiar icons. Image Playground adds ChatGPT integration for generating visuals in specific styles — such as oil painting or vector art — based on text prompts or photos. Importantly, nothing is shared with ChatGPT without explicit permission.
