Who doesn’t love a good discount while shopping? When you finally get a bank offer, you want to make the most of it. But now, there’s a small catch—Amazon has introduced a Rs 49 processing fee for purchases where you use an Instant Bank Discount (IBD) of Rs 500 or more. This means that while you’re still saving money, you’ll need to factor in this extra charge.

A fee for using a discount?

Yes, you heard that right. Amazon will start a processing fee but that is something Flipkart has already been doing. So here is how it works: If you apply a bank discount of Rs 500 or more on your order, Amazon will add Rs 49 to your total bill as a processing fee.
For example, say you’re buying something worth Rs 5,000 and your bank gives you a Rs 500 discount. Normally, you’d pay Rs 4,500. But now, Amazon will tack on Rs 49 as a fee, so your final amount becomes Rs 4,549.
