Odisha pacer Rajesh Mohanty became the first cricketer from the state to claim a hat-trick in List A cricket. The 25-year-old achieved the feat in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Services at Alur Cricket Stadium III in Bengaluru on Friday.
He gave Odisha the edge right at the start after they won the toss and opted to field. He first castled opener Sagar Dahiya for 9(25) and followed it up by packing Amit Shukla and Ravi Chauhan for golden ducks with both getting trapped LBW.
His efforts helped Odisha close the Services innings at 83/10 in 21.5 overs. His impressive bowling figures read 3/25 in 9 overs.

The remaining wickets were shared between Sambit S Baral and Badal Biswal. The former registered four scalps, Biswal picked two, while Nitin Yadav was run-out.
Mohanty was part of the recent IPL mini-auction and had a base price of Rs 30 lakh. However, he failed to attract any suitors during the event in Abu Dhabi.
