SRH Team in IPL 2025: Complete players list of Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad had an interesting time at the IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah, making several headline grabbing purchases. Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, who entered with a base price of Rs 2 crore, was snapped for a whopping Rs 11.25 crore. Mohammed Shami (Rs 10 crore), Harshal Patel, (Rs 8 crore), and spinner Rahul Chahar (Rs 3.2 crore) joined him as well.

Previous season's runners-up also added Abhinav Manohar (Rs 3.2 crore), Adam Zampa (Rs 2.4 crore), and Atharva Taide (Rs 30 lakh) to their roster.

The Rs 10 crore bid for Shami caught many by surprise. Before the auction, former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar had predicted that Shami might not fetch a high price, a comment that the pacer humorously addressed on social media. The bidding war for Shami began with Kolkata Knight Riders and escalated as Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants joined the fray. CSK's final bid was Rs 8.25 crore, while LSG pulled out at Rs 9.75 crore and SRH secured the pacer for Rs 10 crore. Gujarat Titans, who released Shami ahead of the auction, chose not to exercise the RTM (Right to Match) option.

Shami’s addition is significant for SRH. Despite missing the 2024 IPL season due to injury, the pacer had a stellar 2023, emerging as India's leading wicket-taker in the World Cup and becoming the fastest bowler in tournament history to claim 50 wickets. At SRH, he is expected to spearhead the bowling attack alongside skipper Pat Cummins, adding formidable firepower to the team.
