In a rare incident, Sandeep, a Haryana-based national-level athletics coach, has been suspended by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) for “trafficking or attempted trafficking of prohibited substances”. His name featured in the list of latest suspensions available on the NADA website and mentioned him guilty of supplying drugs to track and field athletes.
As reported by Times of India, Sandeep is a middle and long distance coach from Sonepat.

The agency also suspended four other coaches for doping violations, but all of them were cases involving “complicity”. The list featured athletics coach Karamveer Singh (complicity), Rakesh (administration of prohibited substances), Ramesh Nagapuri - the long-time coach of Indian sprinter Dutee Chand - (complicity), and wrestling coach Sandhya Rajesh Bharekar (complicity).
Meanwhile, Basanti Kumari, Sanjana Singh, Aryan Choudhary and Himanshu Rathi were the athletes mentioned in the report who are provisionally suspended.
