The Wabi-Sabi collection launched by the Purple Turtles

The Wabi-Sabi collection skillfully blends the warm radiance of natural wood against the rugged charm of concrete. Inspired by the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection — a philosophy that celebrates irregularity over symmetry, the impermanent over eternal and simplicity over the ornate. The assortment of asymmetrical lights is conceived and designed at JP EcoDesign by Jenny Pinto and Paridhi Burathoki. The designer duo explored the materials in their natural state, played around with it until new objects emerged that kept the aesthetic of concrete while retaining the lightness of real life. Wabi-Sabi brings forth austerity and simplicity of exposed cement without the burden of permanence, celebrating things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. The collection includes wall, table, floor and pendant lamps embellished with materials like fibre, gold leafing, wood and copper. Prices range between Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 20,000.
