Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday praised the Indian diaspora for enriching Kuwait with their skills, saying they have filled the country’s canvas with the colours of Indian talent. He assured that India possesses the necessary manpower, skills, and technology to support a 'New Kuwait.'
Modi, who is visiting Kuwait at the invitation of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, addressed a gathering of the Indian community.
His visit marks the first time in 43 years that an Indian Prime Minister has traveled to Kuwait.
“It takes you four hours to reach here from India but it took four decades for an Indian PM to travel to Kuwait,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi, while greeting the Indian community in Kuwait for the upcoming festivals, remarked, “You have come from different parts of India, but seeing all of you together, it feels like a mini India has gathered here.” He acknowledged the contributions of Indians in Kuwait, stating, “Every year, hundreds of Indians come to Kuwait; you have added an Indian touch to Kuwaiti society. You have filled Kuwait’s canvas with the colours of Indian skills, blending talent, technology, and tradition.”
He also emphasized that India has the manpower, skills, and technology required to support the vision of a 'New Kuwait'.
