The Israeli military reported on Sunday evening that rockets launched from northern Gaza entered southern Israel on Sunday, just one day before the first anniversary of Hamas's attack on October 7.

"Several projectiles were identified crossing from the northern Gaza Strip into Israeli territory. One projectile was intercepted, and the rest fell in open areas," the military said in a statement, with Israeli forces on alert for attacks ahead of the grim anniversary of Palestinian militants' unprecedented attack, news agency AFP reported.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that overnight, it intercepted around 30 rockets fired into the northern region of Israel. Throughout the day, sirens were also heard along Israel’s western coastline, stretching from Haifa in the north to Hadera in the south, according to a IDF post on X.
