Body of British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch retrieved from yacht: Report

The 56-meter (185 feet) British-flagged sailing boat, anchored about 700 meters off Porticello, near Palermo on the northern coast of the Italian island, was struck by a waterspout—a phenomenon similar to a mini-tornado.

In a big development, the body of British tech magnate Mike Lynch was retrieved on Thursday from the wreck of a yacht that sank earlier this week off Sicily during a tempest, Reuters reported

Citing a source close to the rescue operation, the agency stated while Lynch's body was found,  his 18-year daughter Hannah is still missing.

Earlier in the day,  the divers recovered the fifth body however, it was initially not identified.

This comes after three days of searches since the "Bayesian" went down early on Monday morning, brings the death toll to six -- with one person still missing.

The 56-meter (185 feet) British-flagged sailing boat, anchored about 700 meters off Porticello, near Palermo on the northern coast of the Italian island, was struck by a waterspout—a phenomenon similar to a mini-tornado.

The boat sank within minutes.

Fifteen people were rescued, including Lynch's wife and a woman with a one-year-old baby.

However, Lynch and his daughter, along with his lawyer Christopher Morvillo and his wife Neda, as well as Jonathan Bloomer, the chair of Morgan Stanley International, and his wife Judy, were all reported missing.
