Meanwhile, Trump’s son, Donald Jr., arrived in Greenland for a private visit. In addition, Trump announced plans to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America" and reiterated his promise to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada. The press conference, held on January 7, came a day after Congress certified Trump’s election victory. Trump also discussed ongoing legal battles, including a court decision related to his conviction for hush money payments and a temporary block on the release of a report about his handling of classified documents.
