How many Indians stay in Canada? l Ministry of External Affairs issues advisory

Recently, the Indian government took a major action by halting visa processing services in Canada. This follows allegations from Canadian PM Justin Trudeau that India is linked to the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Subsequently, Canada expelled senior Indian diplomats from Canada, prompting India to take a similar action in return. Canada is home to over 1.6 million individuals of Indian descent, making up roughly 4% of the country's total population, with Sikhs accounting for just 2%. Each year, the Indian community contributes significantly to Canada's economy through various means, such as business investments and students pursuing education opportunities.
