High Definition is the 'in thing' in television but it is subscription and not advertising that will drive it. It has been a year since HD TV was launched in India but its just now that the big broadcasters are pushing the new technology to customers.

  The ICC Cricket World Cup and the ongoing IPL HD feeds have helped sales of HD TV sets and subscriptions rise by some 10% over the last quarter. Last week Star India launched five HD channels taking the total number of HD channels available to about 35. Interestingly in what
