Fans thronged in larger numbers outside the actor's sea-facing bungalow, “Mannat”, in Mumbai’s Bandra, with the actor keeping his yearly ritual of greeting the sea of fans who broke into loud cheers as he stepped out to the terrace of his house.
With a net worth of $770 million, Shah Rukh Khan was ranked the fourth richest actor in the world, after Jerry Seinfeld, Tyler Perry and Dwayne Johnson.
In 2017, Khan was ranked 65 in the Forbes list of richest celebrities in the world.
His assets include luxury properties such as the landmark “Mannat” in Mumbai, villas in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah and London. He is the co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Two of his action-thrillers this year, "Pathaan" and “Jawan”, smashed box office records, becoming the among the highest-grossing Hindi films.
Khan, who did not come from an established acting family, rose to Bollywood stardom several years after he started his acting career on the small screen in the 1980s.
