Google has introduced ‘Adaptive Audio,’ a new Google Meet feature that offers Google Workspace users an alternative to a dedicated video conferencing tool to eliminate echo while in a meeting.  It lets users join Meet using multiple laptops in the same room without the echo that usually creates disturbance in any meeting.

This feature was announced in the latest Google Workspace blog. It automatically detects multiple laptops present in the same room and then synchronises the speakers and the microphones of those laptops to avoid the echo that usually comes when multiple devices are placed nearby.

According to Google, the ‘Adaptive Audio’ feature should benefit small organisations and workspaces with small staff, who might not have the dedicated equipment available for clearer audio, while in a meeting. This feature is also expected to provide users more flexibility in choosing meeting locations so that they can conduct meetings in public places like cafes or lounges.
