Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi today congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his "blitzkrieg on unaccounted money", calling his measures against black money bold and timely and asserting that it should be supported in full despite short-term inconveniences.
"It is a right step for making India corruption free," he said in a statement.
"I congratulate the PM for this measure. Notwithstanding some short-term inconveniences the measure should be supported in full. The PM has shown his will and commitment to eliminate unaccounted money. Honest tax payers are happy at this step," the former BJP chief and Lok Sabha MP said.
Modi has yesterday announced that Rs 1000 and Rs 500 denomination notes will no longer be valid, asserting that it will curb black money and corruption.
