BJP's 2nd list of LS candidates, Yeddyurappa gets a ticket

Former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, an accused in the illegal mining scam, selected from Shimoga constituency.

The Bharatiya Janata Party released its second list of candidates for the coming Lok Sabha elections on Saturday. The Central Election Committee has cleared 52 candidates, including 18 from Karnataka. Former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, an accused in the illegal mining scam, selected from Shimoga constituency. Former state chief minister Sadananda Gowda gets ticket from Bangalore north and Ananth Kumar from Bangaore south. The party, however, did not name candidate from Bellary seat. The announcement was made after the party's Central Elections Committee meeting in Delhi to finalise the nominations. The meeting was attended by all top party leaders including Narendra Modi, LK Advani, Rajnath Singh.
