"On Day 2 (of Vibrant Gujarat), we conducted 13 country and state seminars and seven organisation seminars. Along with this, 11 thematic seminars were organised today," said Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) MD Rahul Gupta earlier today.

In his address Port-led city development, Sarbananda Sonowal laid vision of India’s growth through waterways sector. He said PM’s vision aims to lay foundation for India’s growth to be $35 trillion by 2047 of which Gujarat will account for $3 trillion. He highlighted the Sagarmala projects in Gujarat across various sectors, citing the significant impact on business. He also spoke about trade through major ongoing port infrastructure overhauls. The upcoming Kandla terminal was specifically mentioned for its potential to bring tremendous growth opportunities

Gujarat CM and Anatoly Bobrakov Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and Arctic focused on trade, investments, and collaborative initiatives. They spoke about Russia's plans to develop the Far East region as a mining center and specific areas of technological cooperation were discussed along with opportunities for collaboration between companies in the Far East and Gujarat in the mining sector

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and Thailand’s Deputy Minister of Commerce, Napintorn Srisunpang engaged in one-on-one discussion on key aspects of India-Thailand relations. Citing the strong trade between Gujarat and Thailand, the discussions highlighted opportunities in agro-industrial, aviation, clean energy, and hospitality sectors, encouraging collaboration and economic ties between Gujarat and Thailand.

In presence of Agriculture Minister Raghav Patel, 8 MoUs signed in Agro and Food Processing Sector with a total investment of Rs. 3,265 crores. Key investments include Asandas and Sons Pvt. Ltd. (Rs. 1,100 crores), Bhitar Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. (Rs. 500 crores), Tidy Agroceutical Pvt. Ltd. (Rs. 400 crores), Grainspan Nutrients Pvt. Ltd. (Rs. 375 crores), Sanstar Ltd. (Rs. 300 crores). J.M. Coconut Products Pvt. Ltd. (Rs. 300 crores), Mac Patel Foods Pvt. Ltd. (Rs. 150 crores), and RPA Agriculture Infrastructure and Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (Rs. 140 crores)

Amit Shah is expected to outline strategic initiatives and policies aimed at furthering Gujarat’s position as a thriving business hub.

Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics & IT, emphasised Gujarat’s progress in semiconductors and noted how Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel’s policies and initiatives have been contributing towards PM Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. The most notable among them has been the development of indigenous chips at the Micron plant in Gujarat, he said.

The GIFT City is ideally poised to be the gateway for financial and investment hub and has an important role to play in fulfilling the vision for India to become a developed nation by 2047, said Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman while addressing the seminar ‘GIFT City-An Aspiration of Modern India’, organised as part of the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, at Gandhinagar on January 11.

Korean tech giant Simmtech has announced its decision to establish a cutting-edge semiconductor plant in Sanand, Ahmedabad. With the allocated land and an initial investment of Rs 1,250 crore in the first phase.

Simmtech, which is among the world's largest semiconductor packaging IC substrates and high-density interconnect printed circuit board manufacturer, is poised to elevate the state's technological prowess.

Preiti Patel, Chairperson, Raspian Enterprises Pvt Ltd, says, "We are a product of Vibrant Gujarat. We had signed an MoU and after that, we initiated the project, approvals came in and a lot of progress has taken place since...The Defence Industry, especially the small arms sector, is in a nascent stage. But we are making good progress... We have already conducted trials and it is in the technical approval stage.”

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel in his address at the seminar on ‘Port-led City Development’ highlighted Gujarat's substantial maritime trade history and its leading position in the LEADS index for logistics.

He underscored the transformative impact of the visionary concepts 'Ports for Prosperity' and 'Ports for Progress' on the maritime and port-related industries nationwide.

Additionally, he mentioned that the state government is actively involved in augmenting capacity through substantial overhauls, along with the development of port cities and environmentally sustainable green ports.

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari noted that Gujarat’s EV clusters will contribute significantly to PM Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

He stressed that indigenous lithium-ion batteries will be instrumental in making EV vehicles accessible, for both urban and rural India, and charging centres will drive large-scale adoption nationwide.

On Thursday, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar met with a Japanese team in Gandhinagar as part of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.

The Summit began with great excitement on Wednesday, with big-ticket investment offers from Indian and international firms. Among the high-value investment ideas were Adani Group, Reliance Industries, Tata Group, and worldwide corporations such as DP World.

The India-UAE Business Summit was held on Wednesday as a part of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 with the aim of enhancing bilateral connections between the two countries.

"At the moment, we have three exchanges in the IFSC, including the International Bullion Exchange," states Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Nine of the 25 banks that operate within the IFSC are foreign banks. Additionally, IFSC has drawn 26 aircraft lessors, who have leased 136 assets in total. Eighteen insurance and reinsurance firms, as well as 29 insurance corporations, have been founded by 80 fund managers. Here, eight ship leasing companies have started up.The Indian government has made it quite apparent that it will boost shipbuilding in the country.
