At the Rising Bharat Summit 2025, Rajya Sabha MP and JD(U) leader Sanjay Kumar Jha referred Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as the "architect of new Bihar" and expressed confidence that Kumar will continue in the role for the next term.
In an interaction with News18's Amish Devgan, Jha said that if the NDA-JD(U) alliance wins the upcoming elections, Nitish Kumar will remain Bihar's Chief Minister for another five years.
When asked about the BJP-JD(U) alliance formed in 2024, Sanjay Kumar Jha said it’s a natural partnership. He highlighted that the two parties have been working together for over 25 years and that the people of Bihar trust this alliance.
Jha pointed out that the Bihar government is functioning smoothly under Nitish Kumar's leadership, citing a 19-year-long record of successful governance in the state.
Responding to a query on criticism criticism from some parties and Muslim organizations in Bihar over JD(U)'s support for the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, Sanjay Kumar Jha, speaking at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit, said,“I don’t think there will be any impact. We are also seeing… do you know Bihar is the only state where caste survey was conducted. Those who are giving sermons today themselves couldn’t get it done where they could…”
Jha also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that Gandhi doesn't have a clear understanding of the caste or caste-based census, which has been the latter’s demand.
