IndiGo cancels 42 flights at Bengaluru airport on December 3, passengers hit

A total of 62 IndiGo flights were cancelled at Bengaluru airport over the last two days, sources told Moneycontrol

An airport source said the cancellations were due to operational reasons. Many affected passengers took to social media to express their frustration.

As many as 42 IndiGo flights - including 22 arrivals and 20 departures - were cancelled at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport on December 3, causing inconvenience to passengers, sources told Moneycontrol.

Sources said arrivals from sectors such as Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Goa, Kolkata and Lucknow were cancelled. Departures to Mumbai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad were among those affected. On December 2, 20 IndiGo flights were cancelled at the airport.

“We have had several unavoidable flight delays and some cancellations over the past few days due to various reasons, including technical issues, airport congestion, and operational requirements,” an IndiGo spokesperson said.

“Our teams are working diligently to ensure that operations normalise as soon as possible. We are also offering alternate flight options or refunds to affected customers, as applicable. We regret the inconvenience caused to our valued customers due to these disruptions,” he said.

An airport source said the cancellations were due to operational reasons. Many affected passengers took to social media to express their frustration.

On December 2, three Air India Express flights from Bengaluru to Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Nagpur were delayed due to technical glitches.
