The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) authorities on August 24 started demolishing the N Convention Center at Madhapur reportedly owned by actor Akkineni Nagarjuna for allegedly constructing the facility in the Full Tank Level (FTL) area of the lake at Madhapur, local media reported.
HYDRA authorities arrived at the spot in the early hours and started the demolition, Telangana Today reported.
The facility was allegedly built illegally in the buffer area of Thammidi Kunta Lake at Khanamet, the report added.
The FTL area of Thammidi Kunta is 29.24 acres. The N-Convention Center has been found to encroach upon 1.12 acres of the FTL area and an additional 2 acres within the buffer zone, according to a report by Deccan Chronicle, citing officials.
For many years, the management of the Center allegedly maintained favorable relationships with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and other officials, allowing them to avoid demolition despite these alleged violations, the report further added.
Earlier this week, illegal constructions in the FTL and buffer zone areas of Gandipet Lake were demolished, reports added.
