In a tragic incident on Wednesday morning, a helicopter crashed in Pune's Bavdhan area, leaving two people feared dead. The crash, which occurred in a remote, hilly region at around 6:45 AM, was followed by the helicopter catching fire, making the situation even more devastating.

Authorities have yet to confirm whether the aircraft belonged to a government agency or a private entity. Senior Inspector Kanhaiya Thorat from the Hinjewadi police station stated, “A helicopter crashed in Bavdhan area of Pune district. As per primary information, two persons are feared dead. It is yet to be ascertained whose helicopter it was as it is currently up in flames.”

The Pimpri Chinchwad police, who responded swiftly to the emergency, are coordinating with local authorities and fire services to manage the situation. With the wreckage still ablaze, investigators are working to identify the helicopter’s origin and the individuals onboard.

At this stage, details remain limited. The police, alongside aviation experts, are expected to conduct a thorough inquiry once the fire is under control and the site is safe to approach.

As more information becomes available, questions around the cause of the crash and the helicopter’s ownership will likely come to light. The authorities are urging the public to avoid the crash site as emergency services continue their operations.
