Heavy rains continued to lash many parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh including Hyderabad, on Sunday. Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy held an emergency review with ministers, officials and elected members. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also held a review meeting and instructed officials to be vigilant and alert in the rain-affected areas, adding that the necessary assistance be provided to the people. Meanwhile, the depression over north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts, which has been causing heavy rainfall over the past two days, moved northwestwards to cross the southern state's coast near Kalingapatnam in the wee hours of Sunday, said a India Meteorological Department official.

HM Amit Shah promises central help: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken with the chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to assess the flood situation in both states, promising comprehensive Central assistance.

Heavy rainfall in Hyderabad: Hyderabad witnessed heavy rains and the continued overnight downpour led to waterlogging in many parts of the city. The Met Centre said moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds upto 40-50 kmph are very likely for Hyderabad. It also said of low to moderate flash flood risk over Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal, Vikarabad and Sangareddy districts. Moderate to heavy rains lashed many parts of Telangana on Saturday, leading to inundation of low-lying areas and disruption of road links between villages in some places.
