Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi is expected to visit India next week and hold talks with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, News18 has reported.
Wang and Doval are the special representatives of India and China respectively, who lead talks related to the question of boundary.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also set to visit China later this month for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit. It will be his first trip to China since the Galwan clashes of 2020.
Yi's visit to India comes amid a thaw in ties between Beijing and New Delhi following de-escalation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Both countries have also shown signs of rapprochement as US President Donald Trump has threatened steep tariffs on the Asian countries.
In 2024, PM Modi had met Xi on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS Summit at Kazan, signalling that the ties between both the countries were stabilising.
India and China are also set to resume direct flights as soon as next month, according to a report in Bloomberg.
