Recent nationwide raids by Gujarat Police and Andhra Pradesh Police have revealed that transnational criminals have created illegal digital payment gateways using mule/rented accounts. These illegal infrastructures facilitating money laundering as a service are used for laundering proceeds of multiple natures of cybercrimes.

The nomination papers of three candidates for by-election in two assembly seats in Sikkim were rejected during scrutiny leaving four candidates in the fray, officials said on Monday.

Bypolls will be held in Namchi-Singhithang and Soreng-Chakung assembly constituencies on November 13.

During the scrutiny for the Soreng-Chakung seat, nomination papers of the Citizen Action Party - Sikkim (CAP-S) candidate Pobin Hang Subba were rejected, officials said.

In the Namchi-Singhithang constituency, the candidature of the CAP-S nominee Mahesh Rai and SDF contestant Yojna Rai were rejected during scrutiny.

Air India has received aviation regulator DGCA's approval to carry out modifications in aircraft interiors in-house as the Tata Group-owned airline works on revamping its fleet and expanding operations.

t least seven people died when a building collapsed in a suburban area of Nigeria's capital over the weekend, a local official said Monday.

“We have called off search and rescue because we excavated and there was nobody left in the rubble,” said Nkechi Isa, a spokesperson for the Abuja city emergency department.

Building collapses are becoming increasingly common in Nigeria, with more than a dozen such incidents recorded in the last two years. Authorities often blame such disasters on failures to enforce building safety regulations and on poor maintenance.

Maverick Bihar MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has shot off a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, seeking enhanced security in view of a "threatening call from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang".

The Mumbai Police booked a man who allegedly made a threatening call to the Delhi Airport control room, falsely claiming that a woman passenger was travelling with a bomb on a Mumbai-Delhi flight, police said on October 28.

Police suspect that the caller was the nephew of the woman, who used to live in Andheri. The motive behind making the call is under investigation.

According to officials from Sahar police station, the FIR was registered on Friday after the caller cited the name of one Gouri Bharwani, a 60-year-old resident of Andheri (West), in the hoax call, officials said.

Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde on Monday filed his nomination papers from the Kopri-Pachpakhadi assembly constituency in Thane district.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) has fielded Kedar Dighe, the nephew of Thane strongman late Anand Dighe, from the seat in an attempt to corner Shinde. Tuesday is the last date for filing nominations for the Maharashtra assembly elections.

The Enforcement Directorate undertook fresh searches on Monday in connection with the money laundering case involving the Mysuru Urban Development Authority in which it has booked Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his family and others, official sources said.

About seven to eight premises in Bengaluru and Mysuru are being covered in the search, the sources said. This includes the premises of a builder in Bengaluru and some linked persons.

The federal agency conducted the first round of raids in this case on October 18 when it searched the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office in Mysuru and some other locations.

A gunfight broke out between security forces and terrorists during a search operation in a village near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector near here on Monday, officials said.

The search operation in the Bhattal area of Khour was launched after three terrorists opened fire on an Army ambulance passing through the main road near Assan temple in Jogwan early this morning, they said.

However, there was no immediate report of any casualty.

Reinforcements have been rushed to the area to neutralise the heavily armed terrorists, believed to be three in number, who managed to sneak into Jammu from across the border during the intervening night, the officials said.

According to the officials, the terrorists had entered a temple and were desperately looking for a mobile phone to make a call.

Power supply was yet to be restored in around 50,000 households in cyclone-hit areas in Kendrapara, Bhadrak and Balasore districts, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has said.

Briefing reporters here on Sunday evening after reviewing the post-cyclone situation, Majhi said the restoration work has reached the last stage and obstructions on roads have been removed.

The police commissionerate has taken this move following the alleged sexual harassment of a woman and torture of an army officer by policemen in Bharatpur police station here.

Besides, a woman had allegedly misbehaved with the police in Khandagiri police station here recently.

Some police stations in Bhubaneswar have implemented the directive on Sunday, a police officer said.
