Over the last 1.5 months, a dangerous pack of wolves in UP's Bahraich has been responsible for the deaths of seven people, including six children.
The government has formed a specialised task force, comprising 200 personnel from the forest, police and fire departments to track down the wolves. The task force will use drones and CCTV cameras to monitor the movements of the animals under Hardi and Kherighat police stations areas.
The major task of the team is to push the pack away from human habitats. The officials have laid baited traps to capture the wolves.
Bahraich district administration has provided Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased and is offering financial aid and free treatment to the injured. Total 22 people have been injured in the wolf attack incidents.
According to officials, the wolves have been attacking since March and frequency of attacks intensified after July.
These wolves follow a particular pattern, often targeting children sleeping in homes.
