Rupee threatens to breach 87 mark again against US dollar

Currently, Brent crude oil prices were trading at $75.48 per barrel, which was up 26 cents or 0.35 percent.

Indian rupee opened 5 paise down on February 18 and is very close to breach 87 mark again in the early trade.

The local currency opened at 86.9287 against the US dollar, then traded at 86.9487 against the US dollar, as compared to 86.8788 at previous close against the greenback.

Dollar index, which tracks American currency's value against six major currencies rose to 106.904 in early trade, as against 106.575 in the previous trading session.
