Gujjars demand Gojri news on DD, Radio channels in J-K

Jammu, Jan 16 (PTI) Seeking intervention of the Centre, Gujjars in Jammu and Kashmir today demanded broadcasting of Gojri news from Doordarshan (DD) Kashir, Radio Kashmir and DD Jammu with immediate effect. "We demand broadcasting of Gojri news from Doordarshan (DD) Kashir, Radio Kashmir, Srinagar and DD Jammu with immediate effect to end discrimination with Gujjar community in J-K", Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha (ABGM) Chief Ishfaq Ur Rehman Poswal told reporters here today. He sought the intervention of Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Prasar Bharti. Poswal said these suggestions have wide ramifications and implications in countering Pakistani propaganda against India which mislead innocent youth especially Gujjars most of whom reside on the border belt. He also alleged that future prospects and careers of over a hundred of KAS qualified Gujjars officers of J-K state is at stake due to apathy of state administration.
