Pepper and cardamom planting materials ready for sale

Kochi, June 2 (PTI): High quality planting materials of pepper and cardamom, produced in the nurseries of Spices Board in Karnataka, are available for sale. The Board has fixed a price of Rs 4.50 per cardamom seedling for farmers and Rs 5 for Government departments and agencies per seedling, it said in a press release here. Cardamom suckers are available at a rate of Rs 10 per sucker for farmers and Rs 12 for Government departments and agencies respectively. Pepper nucleus planting materials are priced at Rs 7 for farmers and Rs 8.50 for Government departments and agencies. Rooted cutting of pepper vine costs Rs 3.50 for farmers and Rs 4.50 for Government departments and agencies. Beneficiaries under the Special Fund for replanting cardamom plantations will get a subsidy of 50 percentage of the cost. To avail this subsidy, eligible beneficiaries are required to obtain permit orders from the field offices of Spices Board.pti ud  ------------------------------------------------------------- TV 06021659
