Dehradun, Feb 7 (PTI) The Uttarakhand government has set up a committee consisting of senior officers of Wildlife Institute, PWD and Forest Department to prepare a report on construction of the long awaited Laldhang-Kotdwar road. The panel has been asked to submit its report in three weeks on the project which will reduce the distance between Haridwar and Kotdwar by 25 km, official sources said today. A 5-km-long flyover is also proposed to be built on the route which will facilitate connectivity of SIIDCUL area, Ramnagar and Lansdowne. Chief Secretary Alok Kumar Jain has asked officers on the panel to ensure that wildlife is not disturbed and also ensure that there are no man-animal conflicts caused by the road construction.
