65-year-old man held for molesting minor girl

Thane, Feb 15 (PTI) A 65-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and molesting a two-year-old girl in Nallasopara town of Thane district, police said today. The accused, Ramcharan R Vishwakarma, yesterday took the minor girl, who stayed in his neighbourhood in Sriram Nagar area, to his home on some pretext and allegedly molested her, Nallasopara police station inspector Mukund Mahajan said. While searching for their daughter, the anxious parents of the victim found her at the house of the accused following which they lodged a police complaint against him. Subsequently, Ramcharan was arrested and booked under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with an intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC, police added.
