Sandeep Bhatia, Executive Director & Head-Sales at Kotak Institutional Equities told CNBC-TV18, "In the financials after the Q4 results, ICICI Bank is one stock to look at. It has not done as well as some other competing banks, so it is a good stock to look at post the Q4 numbers which will come through from the banks."
"The other stocks that one can look at is LIC Housing Finance or Bajaj Finance. Those will play into the rate cut cycle which I expect and some amount of consumption pickup during the year mostly in the second half of the financial year after September. So, these are the two financial stocks that you can look at," he said.
"As far as broader consumption, broader economic trends are concerned Tata Motors looks interesting. They have a whole slew of models coming through in globally. If the domestic car business shows some traction that is an added benefit where we are not seeing much value."
He further added, "Infosys looks interesting in tech. They will benefit from a weaker rupee vis-à-vis the dollar. We all know what cross-currency effects and how that neutralises but it is one tech stock which is still cheaper than the rest. So, these are some of the names that look interesting. Look at where valuations have reached for some of these names and then re-examine and take a call then."
