Morgan Stanley Smith Barney underweight on India, Japan

Though most experts are considering India to be a safe bet, David Darst of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney holds a different view. He is underweight on India, Japan and Europe.

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, he said, "Watch out for flow of data for central bank's action." Darst is expecting India's earning growth to be at 24% in FY12. Hence, he maintains a bullish outlook on India in the long term. On the global front, he feels that markets are in a sharp correction phase. However, he rules out recession situation returning to markets but withdrawal of a fiscal stimulus is still a concern. According to Darst, base case for S&P is seen at 1238 and S&P bull case is seen around 1425 by year-end. Below is an edited transcript of his interview with CNBC-TV18
