As the year ends, global markets look like they will shut shop on a tepid note. Investors worry that all potential patch-up jobs on the eurozone crisis, to cut down the threat of a global recession have so far been futile. The spotlight now focuses on which asset class can be a safe bet for investors to get positive returns.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Steve Brice, chief investment strategist at Standard Chartered Bank finds that 2012 will come in with its own set of problems. As he compares emerging markets to its developed peers, he sees the later faltering in the first quarter but slowly picking up in the second half of the year.
He sees global equities picking up, making investors happy that they will get good returns in the new year.
