Worst of liquidity crunch is over: HDFC Bank

HDFC Bank says the worst of the liquidity crunch is over and a cut in lending or deposit rates is possible by the latter half of the first quarter.

HDFC Bank says the worst of the liquidity crunch is over and a cut in lending or deposit rates is possible by the latter half of the first quarter.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Paresh Sukthankar, Executive director, HDFC Bank says, "As we get closer to mid-April, liquidity may ease partly because of the advanced tax money coming back into the system and some transfers, which will happen from the government to the states and that getting spent as well."


As to the measures the bank has adopted to revise their lending and deposit rates, Sukthankar said,
