Rural market share to rise in HUL topline

The contribution of rural markets, which are growing faster than urban markets, to Hindustan Unilever's (HUL) turnover is expected to rise from about 40 per cent now to 50 per cent in the next four to five years, reports The Times of India, quoting a company official.

The contribution of rural markets, which are growing faster than urban markets, to Hindustan Unilever's (HUL) turnover is expected to rise from about 40 per cent now to 50 per cent in the next four to five years, reports The Times of India, quoting a company official. Currently, HUL's total turnover is roughly Rs 18,000 crore.

The company has adopted a direct distribution model and has launched special initiatives to push its rural sales through project shakti and shaktimans.
