The rainy season brings relief from heat and the beauty of nature, but it also creates the perfect environment for skin problems in kids. According to pediatric dermatologist Dr Ananya Verma, “In monsoon, humidity, wet clothes and stagnant water cause fungal and bacterial skin infections, leading to rashes in children.”
Red patches, itching or small bumps on the skin can make parents worried, but if treated early, they can usually be managed with simple home remedies.
What Causes Rashes in Kids During Rainy Season?
- Fungal Infections: Fungi love warm, wet skin folds.
- Bacterial Infections: Open cuts or scratches can get infected easily.
- Heat Rash (Prickly Heat): Humid air traps sweat inside the skin pores.
- Allergic Reactions: Some fabrics, detergents, or insect bites can also cause rashes.
- Neem Water Bath
Neem leaves have antibacterial and antifungal properties. Boil a handful of fresh neem leaves in water. After giving your child a bath, use this neem water as the final rinse.

Fresh aloe vera cools the skin, reduces itching and speeds up healing. Apply twice a day on clean skin.
