Smriti Irani has always worn many hats — actor, politician, and public figure — but her latest Instagram post reminded fans that at the heart of it all, she’s just like the rest of us: taking time out on weekends, cherishing old memories, and reflecting on how far she’s come.
Over the weekend, Smriti shared a fresh-faced selfie and followed it up with a light-hearted behind-the-scenes moment from the set of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
In the clip, she’s seen filming a fun Boomerang with her co-stars — a lovely reminder of the camaraderie they still share years later. Smriti captioned the post as, "Expected weekend vibes v/s reality #workisworship @ritucj @gandhi_aman_"
With the reboot of the iconic show, Smriti steps back into her beloved role of Tulsi, joined by familiar faces like Amar Upadhyay (Mihir), Shakti Anand, Gauri Pradhan, Hiten Tejwani, Ritu Seth, Kamalika Guha Thakurta, and Ketki Dave.
Smriti Irani also made an appearence earler this month, in a preview clip shared by Soha on Instagram, she wrote: “Tulsi in 2000 vs. Tulsi in 2025… what would they say to each other? This isn’t just an episode, it’s a Moment!”

And it truly was. In the episode, Smriti opened up about her early struggles and the labels people tried to stick on her. “25 years ago, I was called a part-time politician and a full-time actor,” she recalled. Then came an even more heartfelt memory: “To my father, I'm going to live the rest of my life as somebody's wife. 17 years as your daughter, I said, when do I get to live for myself?”
She also spoke about her first job. “First job was on the streets of Delhi in a place called Janpath for 200 bucks a day. Taken a loan from my dad. He said, I'll give you one year, and if you can't pay me back, marry whoever I tell you to marry.”
