Stranger Things is getting closer to its eagerly awaited finale after enthralling viewers with its fusion of supernatural elements and 1980s nostalgia for almost ten years.
Filming for the fifth and final season of the acclaimed sci-fi thriller has officially concluded, with production officially ending in December 2024.
In a season that promises to wrap up the many strands of its intricate story, the series, which has become a worldwide cultural phenomenon, will make its farewell appearance. Co-creator Ross Duffer wrote a sincere post thanking the cast and crew for their contributions.
“They’ve become more than just actors — they’re family,” Duffer wrote. He also took a moment to commend the dedication of the entire team, acknowledging their hard work and commitment to delivering a powerful and satisfying conclusion.
After a short break, the fifth season's formal production resumed in January 2024. The crew made great strides by mid-July, the eight-year anniversary of the show's debut, and they were halfway through the filming process. Cast members have described the experience of filming the final season as bittersweet, with many sharing their mixed emotions about saying goodbye to a project that has meant so much to them over the years. Sadie Sink, who portrays Max, expressed the sentiment of many of her co-stars: “We’re savouring every single moment.”
The final season "definitely feels bigger" than the others, according to Jamie Campbell Bower, who portrays the ominous Vecna. The names of the episodes have been revealed by Netflix, which has maintained the suspense as fans anxiously await any information regarding the upcoming season:
