Actor Manoj Bajpayee has expressed deep sadness over the tragic death of his Family Man 3 co-star, Rohit Basfore, who was discovered dead near the Jalukpaham waterfall in Guwahati on Sunday evening.
Basfore, 25, apparently drowned while on a picnic with co-workers.
Manoj Bajpayee expressed his sympathies on Tuesday on X (previously Twitter), saying, May God bless your soul with peace Rohit Basfore!! Gone too soon! Our condolences to the family!! ॐ शांति !!!"
Rohit Basfore, an Assam-based actor and gym trainer, had been posting behind-the-scenes photos from the production of The Family Man 3 on Instagram.
In a November tweet, he uploaded images with co-stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Dalip Tahil and captioned them, "Lucky to have such a great experience."
Earlier this year, he uploaded photos of himself and his colleagues from the set of the next programme, captioned "On the sets of Family Man 3." It was a terrific experience, and I've always enjoyed learning new things."
The incident occurred at 2 p.m. on Sunday, when Basfore apparently fell into the waterfall while picnicking with nine colleagues.
Police got a call at 4:06 p.m. and were at the scene around 4:30 p.m. Divers helped recover the corpse at 8:30 p.m. Initial investigations point to unintentional drowning, and the corpse has been submitted for post-mortem analysis.
The Family Man, a spy action thriller series developed by Raj and DK, stars Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class guy who covertly works as an intelligence operative. The third season is now in post-production and is set to premiere later this year.
