Katrina Kaif’s Tees Maar Khan dialogue revived by Gen Z in Nepal Protest, Iconic line goes viral

Clips of the moment hit social media within hours, spreading far beyond Kathmandu. Comments poured in. One user laughed, “I can almost hear those lines while reading them.”

Another joked, “Reading in Katrina Kaif’s accent.” Someone else summed it up: “I love how Gen Z just knows to have fun regardless of the situation. Most unserious in the most serious moments.”

But the backdrop isn’t lighthearted. The protests, led largely by young citizens, erupted against corruption and lack of accountability. Over the past week, at least 51 people have died and more than 500 were injured.

Nepali actress Manisha Koirala, who has often spoken on national issues, posted a heavy-hearted note. “Today is a black day for Nepal, when bullets respond to the voice of the people, outrage against corruption and demand for justice,” she wrote, calling the violence “a tragedy for democracy.”

Indian actor and YouTuber Prajakta Koli, who is married to a Nepali citizen, also reacted. “What happened in Nepal yesterday is truly heartbreaking. Any form of celebration at such a time feels inappropriate,” she posted, adding that she had been planning to visit but will now wait for peace to return.

Meanwhile, in a rare move, the Nepali government rolled back its controversial decision to ban social media platforms after days of unrest.

For many, though, the image that lingers is of young protesters chanting Katrina Kaif’s fiery dialogue, proof that sometimes-pop culture and politics collide in unexpected, unforgettable ways.
