Hollywood singer Billie Eilish is currently on Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour and made a surprising announcement during her Manchester leg on Saturday. Billie revealed that she is collaborating with the Oscar-winning director James Cameron on an upcoming 3D project.
However, the Grammy winner avoided sharing further details on the project but revealed that she is working on something "very special" with Cameron.
According to Variety, Billie told the live audience, “So you may have noticed that there are more cameras than usual in here.” She added, “Basically, I can’t say much about it but what I can say is that I’m working on something very, very special with somebody named James Cameron and it’s going to be in 3D.”
The singer and songwriter further shared, “So, take that as you will and these four shows here in Manchester, you and me are part of a thing that I am making with him. He’s in this audience somewhere, just saying. So don’t mind that, and also I’ll probably be wearing this exact outfit for like four days in a row.”
While she didn’t share the project’s title, fans are speculating that she was talking about the next part of the Avatar franchise. Released in 2009, Avatar became the highest-grossing film ever, making over USD 2.8 billion worldwide. The film earned nine Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director, and won three Oscars for Best Cinematography, Production Design, and Visual Effects.
The second instalment of the film with Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang, titled Avatar: The Way of Water, was released in 2022. However, the third instalment, Avatar: Fire and Ash, is slated to hit the big screen on December 19.
Meanwhile, Billie Eilish kicked off her Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour in October last year and will conclude in November.
