Actor Arshad Warsi had recently been subject to immense backlash following his comments on Pan India Star Prabhas. Arshad, in one of his statements earlier, had criticized Prabhas' starrer Kalki 2898 AD and called the actor a 'joker'. Though he later clarified, saying his comment was on the character played by Prabhas and not the actor at all.
There were some people who also saw that recently Arshad had also disabled his comments section on social media; to this, the Munnabhai actor said he doesn't know how to do that. And when Money Control checked his account, the comments were on.
In an interview with India Today, he said it was the first time he was caught in any controversy and that from now on he will be very cautious about what he says in public.
"I have decided that I will love every film that I watch. I will love every actor for the rest of my life (laughs)," he said.
Talking about the backlash, Arshad said everyone has the right to express their point of view. "Honestly, it's okay. Everyone has their point of view. Also, it's a democratic country, and everyone is allowed to speak in it. If you are a positive person, anything negative does bother you. However, we have been at a place where stones are thrown, so it doesn't bother me anymore."
It was in August this year, during a podcast, the interviewer asked him about any bad film that he had watched recently, and Arshad had named it Kalki 2898 AD.
“Prabhas, I am really sad. Why was he... He was like a joker. Why? I want to see Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata. What have you made of it? Why do they do such things? I never understand.”
Besides the trolling by Prabhas' fans, Arshad was also criticized by many celebrities in the Telugu film fraternity, including actors Nani, Sudheer Babu, and director Ajay Bhupathi.
Kalki director Nag Ashwin had also posted on X reacting to Arshad's comments; he wrote, "Arshad saab (sir) should have chosen his words better... but it's ok... sending Buji toys for his kids... I will work hard so tweets... that Prabhas was the best ever in K2."
Arshad Warsi's next film is Banda Singh Chaudhary, and it has been produced by Arbaaz Khan. Post this, he has also wrapped up the shoot of Jolly LLB 3, where he will be sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar once again.
