The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress and Left leaders on March 29 announced seat allocation for Lok Sabha election in Bihar.

The RJD will field its candidates on 26 seats, including Purnea and Hajipur. The Congress will contest on nine seats, including Kishanganj and Patna Sahib, while the Left will fight on five seats.

Lok Sabha elections for the 40 seats in Bihar will be held in seven phases on April 19, 26, May 7, 13, 20, 25, and June 1. The counting of votes will be done on June 4.

In 2019, the BJP, JD(U) and undivided Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) fought the Lok Sabha election together, bagging 39 of the total 40 seats. The BJP won 17, JD(U) bagged 16 and LJP secured six seats. Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan (Congress, RJD and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party) won only one seat, which went to a Congress candidate.
